What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is essentially computer-aided meditation. It is not a treatment for any medical or psychological problem, but a tool for training the brain to be flexible, resilient, efficient. What we find interesting is that when you train the brain in this way, many symptoms decrease or disappear. Within our brains, neurofeedback detects problem areas, it interrupts the misapplied effort, and invites a new way of being.
What conditions may improve?
Research and our own experience with clients suggest that neurofeedback can offer significant relief for many conditions, including:
- addictions—relapse prevention
- age-related cognitive decline
- traumatic brain injury
- multiple sclerosis
- immune suppression
- posttraumatic stress
- chronic fatigue or pain
